Victoria is the birthplace of Thurber Engineering Ltd. R.C. Thurber and Associates opened in Victoria in 1957. Today, our Victoria office employs 30+ geotechnical engineers, technicians, drafters, geoscientists, construction materials engineers, environmental engineers, and support staff. Our office is equipped with an advanced geotechnical laboratory and a materials laboratory.

We serve the entire island and work with other Thurber branches on exciting projects across the country. Some key projects our Victoria team has undertaken include: reconstruction of the Malahatt Highway following flooding, the Royal Bay and Olympic View Developments, the 5th Street Bridge Rehabilitation in Courtenay, and multiple highway and bridge improvements across the Island.

Our Victoria, BC branch is located in the centrally located Vancouver Island Technology Park. The office is well connected to Victoria and area with bus and bike routes. We offer free onsite parking, transit passes, and a secure bicycle lock up facility.

Vancouver Island Technical Park is located on 35 acres of land with trails and pathways. Employees have access to the free 24/7 onsite fitness centre which includes changerooms and shower stalls.
