What we do

What we do

Serving Canada since 1957.

Thurber’s geotechnical engineers, technicians, scientists, and geologists focus on the behaviour and properties of materials including soil, rock, and groundwater to understand how they react with construction and infrastructure projects. We work on projects including buildings, bridges, roads, tunnels, solar and wind farms, and dams from design to construction completion and lifecycle maintenance.

Our environmental engineers and scientists help solve environmental challenges related to contaminated sites, regulatory approvals, and environmental monitoring.

Thurber employees work together across our organization to share ideas and solutions. Our advanced laboratories provide us with the data to assess risks and challenges posed by ground conditions. With this understanding, we provide recommendations for slope stability, foundation design, geohazard mitigation and more. With in-house environmental, instrumentation, construction materials, and pavement engineers, we provide our clients with a full-suite of services to understand the earth’s behaviour.
