Thurber Engineering Ltd. is pleased to announce the appointment of three new principals.

Mehdi Mostakhdemi, M.Sc., M.Eng., P.Eng.

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Mehdi is a senior geotechnical engineer in Thurber’s Oakville office. He holds an M.Sc. in Geotechnical Engineering that he obtained at Amir Kabir University of Technology, and an M.Eng. in Geotechnical Engineering that he obtained at the University of Alberta. While with Thurber, Mehdi has contributed to some notable infrastructure projects including the Highway 427 Extension in the York region of the GTA, the Ashbridges Water Treatment Plant, the Gordie Howe International Bridge, the Confederation Line Extension, and the Ontario Line. His strong understanding of transportation infrastructure has led him to become part of one of the working groups for the new Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code.

 

Steven Coulter, M.Sc., P.Eng.

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Steven is a senior geotechnical engineer in Thurber’s Victoria’s office. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Dalhousie University and an M.Sc. in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Alberta. Steven has contributed to numerous projects across British Columbia. His experience extends across a wide scope of geotechnical practice and he specializes in seismic design and assessment of flood control dikes.

 

Keli Shi, M.Eng., P.Eng.

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Keli is a senior geotechnical engineer in Thurber’s Cambridge office. Keli received his undergraduate degree in highway and bridge engineering from Dalian University of Technology in 1997 and his M.Eng. in geotechnical engineering from the University of Western Ontario in 2007. Keli specializes in infrastructure projects including major highway projects with the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) and public transit projects with Metrolinx. He also provides senior-level engineering support for rail and municipal projects.
