Thurber recognized at the ACEC-BC Awards

The Association of Consulting Companies British Columbia held their 34th Awards for Excellence Gala on May 16. Thurber projects were nominated in a number of categories, and we took home a few awards!

Municipal and Civil Infrastructure:

North Surrey Interceptor No. 2 - Preliminary Design: Submitted by GHD Limited. Thurber provided geotechnical engineering services.

Transportation and Bridges:

Haisla Bridge Replacement - a new link for the community: Submitted by Associated Engineering, WSP Canada, and Collings Johnston. Thurber provided geotechnical engineering and metal leaching/acid rock drainage services.

The Royal Avenue Underpass Rehabilitation and Deck Replacement: Submitted by Hatch. Thurber provided construction materials durability consulting.

Kicking Horse Canyon Phase 4: Submitted by Parsons, BASIS Engineering, and Thurber. Thurber provided geotechnical design and geohazard mitigation services. This project won an Award of Excellence.

Kicking Horse Canyon Viaducts: Submitted by BASIS Engineering. Thurber provided geotechnical design.

Highway 1 Malahat Tunnel Hill Washout: Submitted by McElhanney and Thurber. Thurber provided geotechnical engineering.

Ross Street Underpass: Submitted by Binnie. Thurber provided geotechnical engineering and soil corrosion assessment.

Energy and Industry:

Trans Mountain Expansion Project: Submitted by BGC Engineering, Stantec, WSP Canada, and Thurber. Thurber provided geotechnical engineering, geology, terrain stability assessments, and geohazard assessments. This project won an Award of Excellence.

Natural Resource and Habitat:

Pilot Testing a Living Dike: Submitted by Kerr Wood Leidal Associates. Thurber provided geotechnical engineering. This project won an Award of Merit.

Lieutenant Governor's Award:

Kicking Horse Canyon Phase 4: Submitted by Parsons, BASIS Engineering, and Thurber. Thurber provided geotechnical design and geohazard mitigation services.
